Lyndon Poskitt is touring in Sweden on board the 2022 Husqvarna Norden 901
Following the unveiling of the Nordic 901 concept at EICMA 2019, Husqvarna began a two-year development process for its first adventure cycle. While the neo-rally styling and an 889cc parallel twin seemed to be a perfect match for unwavering ADV riders, the company hired British world traveler Lyndon Poskitt to help transform the Nordics 901 into the ultimate tourer.
Advertising videos that led to the 2022 Nordic 901 revelation only increased the hype surrounding the new medium-sized adventurer. But in December 2021, new middleweight challengers like Ducati DesertX and MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 9.5 stole the Nordic thunder. To remind drivers of the 901’s capacity, Husqvarna released a new documentary video showing Lyndon Poskitt’s freewheel adventure aboard the Nordics.
Starting from the Husqvarna Museum, Poskitt’s journey north begins with an ode to the historic brand. A visit with local retired Husky riders also honors the company’s rich motocross history, but Poskitt’s journey does not begin in earnest until he drives out onto the open road – and the terrain tracks. The Nordics may not present the same premium terrain-oriented components as their cousin, the KTM 890 Adventure R, but in the hands of Poskitt, the 901 proves its skill on the tracks.
Halfway through the trip, Poskitt praises the Nordic region’s agility and comfortable ergonomics. The comment comes from a Husqvarna ambassador and sounds like a thinly veiled press release, but it is Poskitt’s actions on the 901 that speak their clear language for the new middleweight ADV. From rock crawling to pounding on the sidewalk to slinging through the mud, the Nordics are proving their involvement in the path and the asphalt. This is where true adventure happens, not on spec sheets or feature lists.
The rest of the video lets that quality shine through, and highlights spontaneous moments of the journey such as Poskitt learning to smoke fish or encountering a herd of reindeer. No matter what bike you are on, adventure is about taking advantage of the moment. Of course, Husqvarna and Lyndon Poskitt want viewers to know that Norden 901 is an excellent gateway to that world, even though it has more competition in the market now.
