Long Ma, a 13-meter-high dragon horse, soon to be hosted at the Machine Hall
The Halle de La Machine in Toulouse will soon have a new resident : a dragon horse that responds to the name of long mom and who will spend nearly three months in Occitania between February 19 and May 8.
“A very beautiful machine, very expressive”
Long Ma was created by Compagnie La Machine in 2014 as part of the 50th anniversary of the resumption of relations between Paris and Beijing. He spent most of his career in China, but he also wandered to Nantes, Calais or Ottawa in Canada.
From February 19, it will therefore be visible in Toulouse. François Delarozière, artistic director of Compagnie La Machine, presented this new giant: “Long Ma means’ dragon horse”. He is a character taken from Chinese mythology. It is yellow in color, the moonlight reflects on it at night. There is a horse’s body, a dragon’s head, and wings. It is a very beautiful machine, very expressive, _with a fairly powerful mobility force_. Long Ma can lie down, get up, rear up, gallop, sneeze, spit a flame. His eyes, eyelids and ears move. When he walks on the giant trail with the Minautaure and the spiders, it will be truly an exceptional moment. “
Long Ma will be exhibited at the Hamme de la Machine between February 19 and May 8. It will be out over Easter weekend, April 16 and 17, with the Minotaur and the spiders. The people of Toulouse are invited to this great free show on the giant track in front of the Halle de la Machine.
