Avanade, UNICEF Netherlands and Microsoft help nonprofits with the donor engagement platform
avanade, UNICEF Netherlands and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) developed an innovative cloud-based solution to transform the way non-profit organizations interact with donors. The solution brings together data from across the organization to provide real-time counts that help improve donations and improve back office savings. The donor engagement platform is based on Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 platform and developed for UNICEF Netherlands. It is now being made available to all non-profit organizations and is expected to deliver $100 million in savings worldwide.
UNICEF works in more than 190 countries to save lives, protect the rights of millions of children and help them realize their potential, from early childhood to adolescence. Private donors and volunteers contribute in time and resources and use their influence to support local UNICEF efforts in 34 countries around the world.
Real-time better picture of donors
To eliminate the need for outdated and expensive fundraising methods, UNICEF Netherlands partnered with the teams from Avanade’s Microsoft Tech for Social Impact initiative and Tech for Social Good. The goal was to transform back-office activities and improve the way UNICEF Netherlands maintains relationships with donors. Utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Experience and Customer Insights, UNICEF Netherlands’ single financial, operational and marketing data is now integrated into the cloud that provides real-time delivery and a better view of donors. The platform also enables the creation of personalized communications to improve people to support supporters and help UNICEF roll out its programs.
“We were looking for a solution that would allow us to connect with our donors in a more personal way. Their support, time and donations are most welcome and vital to serve the best interests of children,” said Bart de Ruigh, Director of Operations & Finance at UNICEF Netherlands.
“At Avanade, our goal is to make a real impact and I am proud of the work our teams are doing in partnership with UNICEF Netherlands and Microsoft to improve the lives of children worldwide,” said Pam Maynard, CEO of Avanade. “It’s even better that the solution we’ve developed together will enable other nonprofits to build stronger, lasting relationships with their donors.”
“UNICEF Netherlands is committed to changing the lives of millions of children around the world. By using Microsoft Dynamics 365, based on standards for the non-profit sector such as the Common Data Model, the organization contributes not only to the realization of its mission, but also to society with a replicable solution. It’s both humbling and inspiring to be a part of this,” said Erik Arnold CTO of the Microsoft Tech for Social Impact group.
This solution, based on Microsoft’s Common Data Model for Nonprofits, is now available to other nonprofit organizations and provides an affordable way to work with the latest Microsoft technology. “All industries of reusable solutions. It enables them to structurally quickly and scale up at a lower cost,” said Ralf van den Ham, Client Lead Avanade. “This isn’t important for nonprofits that need to get the most out of their budgets. We are proud to partner with UNICEF Netherlands to create a solution that encourages giving and improves the lives of children around the world.”
In 2018, Avanade supported the Tech for Social initiative with the goal of being a trusted partner to nonprofits and driving systemic change using Microsoft technologies. irregularly, more than 100 projects have been delivered for more than 50 non-profit organizations.
