AS Monaco colors worn as far as Antarctica!
Members of the “L’Astrolabe” crew, currently on mission in Antarctica under the command of Frigate Captain Caugant, wore the AS Monaco jersey during the southernmost football game.
Always everywhere, even in the southern lands! Currently on a logistical support mission in Antarctica since October 5, currently reaching the southernmost point for a crew of the French Navy, members of the crew of the polar patrol boat “L’Astrolabe” were able to wear the colors of their favorite club.
A football match on the ice floe
Taking advantage of a break, the crew organized a game of football on the ice floe in tribute to the polar advisory “Commander Charcot”, as the sailors of this ship had done 70 years ago.

HSH Prince Albert being a reserve naval officer and sensitive to climate and environmental issues, this event received the support of the Monegasque government which had, in anticipation of this occasion, sent balloons and jerseys provided by the Club .
On the deck of the ship – in the colors… red and white – built as part of a partnership between the collectivity of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands (TAAF), the French Polar Institute Paul-Emile Victor and the Ministry of Defense, the two men thus posed with a jersey of Captain Wissam Ben Yedder and Aurélien Tchouameni.
