Andrea Wild becomes the new director of the Zurich City Archives
The Zurich City Archives will have a new director, Andrea Wild, from May 1, 2022. She will take the place of Anna Pia Maissen.
The city council needed Andrea Wild to be the director of the city archive. She will take up her position on May 1, 2022. Andrea Wild succeeds Anna Pia Maissen. Andrea Wild prevailed in a multi-stage selection process from 26 applicants for the position of director of the Zurich City Archives.

Wild has many years of experience in administration and in the private sector
Andrea Wild studied general history and English linguistics and literature at the University of Zurich. She then completed a postgraduate degree in archive and information science at the University of Bern and completed further training in the field of public management.
Andrea Wild has been working in the Federal Archives since 2010, and since 2011 as Head of Information Services. Before that, she worked at Swiss Re in various specialist, staff and management positions in the Records Management division.
Ms. Wild has in-depth specialist knowledge and many years of management experience in archiving. They are characterized by a large network inside and outside the public administration.
Anna Pia Maissen had worked in the city archive since 1990
The current director of the city archive, Dr. phil. Anna Pia Maissen, will retire at the end of March 2022. She has been in charge of the City Archives since September 2003. She started working for the City of Zurich in 1990 as a research assistant in the City Archives.
During her time as director, she has the city archive as an important point of contact for the public and as a competent service provider for the city administration. The city council thanks Dr. Maissen for her longstanding, formative commitment.
The Zurich City Archive is an information and service center for the administration and the public. It documents the history and development of the city of Zurich and its institutions.
