At the end of September, through our newspaper, going around Pisa signposted a building at number 10 of Borgo Stretto, right next to the historic and beautiful church of San Michele in Borgo. Well, we learn with satisfaction that our report has had a positive response, as the works for the record of the decor conditions are known. The mayor of Pisa, Michele Conti, announced this through his Facebook wall with a post in which he states: “It took a bit of insistence and an order to inform the owners of the land next to the church of San Michele in Borgo to restore the minimum conditions of decoration of the small building. Now, finally, the works have started. It cannot be tolerated that in the heart of the historic center, in the middle of Borgo Stretto, next to a sacred building of valuable architectural value, a fund that has been in a state of neglect for years makes a fine show of itself. With a little attention and a lot of will, we try to improve Pisa every day! ”.
We agree with the mayor of Pisa and we are happy with the start of the works. we de The Arno.it we will continue to report degraded situations, for the sake of our beloved Pisa. We would really like to be able to dare some good news for the ruins that, since the end of the Second World War, persist on Lungarno Galilei (read here And here). The situation is complex, we know, and the laws only go so far. But after more than seventy years, a solution can and must be found.
