Why Monaco is joining TV5Monde – issues
Monaco will have a platform to promote Monte Carlo Riviera (MCR), its future television channel – and a new lever for sweet power. The principality thus becomes the 6th funder of TV5Monde. Launched in 1984, it is now 49% owned by France Télévisions. France Médias Monde owns 12.64%, RTBF and SSR each hold 11.11%, Radio-Canada 6.67%, Télé Québec 4.44%, Arte France 3.29% and INA 1.74% . Monte Carlo Riviera will join the tour de table as soon as it takes place, and will sit on its board of directors.

Or, why not, around the more celebrity hosts of the international channel, like Cyril Viguier, who recently signed for the channel the most recent interview with the actor Alain Delon.
Prince Albert must sign the ordinances allowing the project to be processed in early January. Then, everything will have to go very quickly: premises, teams, star hosts … MCR must be on the air from June 2022.
