Visa has women in the management position in Slovakia
Visa has opened its first Visa office in Slovakia. Ľubica Gubová holds the position of Country Lead for Slovakia. Marcel Gajdoš, General Director of Visa for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, stated: “As the most trustworthy and innovative company in the field of payments, we feel responsible for accelerating digitization in Slovakia as well. That’s why we opened an office here to be closer to our partners. We have chosen Ľubka Gubová to lead the management, who has extensive experience in the banking sector and as a woman can bring a different perspective than men in the industry. “
In July 2021, the company launched a campaign ,,Meet Visa“, Which has brought its identity closer to the general public and in which it presents its brand in a new way. Slovakia is a country with huge potential for development in the field of digitization. As a result of the pandemic, consumer behavior has changed and they are increasingly looking for cashless payment options – whether online or in land-based operations. And merchants can only fully serve their customers if they provide them with this method of payment. Visa’s goal is to help individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, and economies around the world thrive on digitization. As part of the commitment to start digitizing the company and the business environment in Slovakia, they opened an office in Bratislava.
Ľubica Gubová, Country Lead Visa for Slovakia
Visa drives world trade, and what drives Visa is people. The Slovak Visa payment experts team, who want to contribute to the company’s goal of helping companies and making digital payments available and distribute as quickly as possible, are also individuals and the most secure in Slovakia. In her position, Ľubica Gubová, who leads the Slovak Visa team, is responsible for developing the company’s business activities on the Slovak market, strengthening relations with the company’s clients and partners, but also for building brand awareness and representing Visa’s values. She has worked in the banking industry in the past. She has been working at Tatra banka since university, where a senior product manager was built.
The company talks about: “Most people know the Visa brand. They see it on their credit cards, on the doors of stores that allow card payments, at sporting events that Visa supports, but often have no idea that Visa is in fact a huge network of people, partnerships and products that works for individuals, companies and economies around the world, driving world trade forward ”. Slovakia is an ideal market for the implementation of new payment services. Over the last 15 years, it has become one of the leaders in the field of contactless and mobile payments. The priority in Slovakia for digitization is digitization – acceptance of non-cash payments. “Within the V4 region, we are well below average in the coverage of POS terminals or the latest mobile payment terminals. Therefore, we want to positively motivate small and medium-sized businesses and merchants to accept non-cash payments. We already have consumers on our side – according to the survey (How COVID-19 has changed the way Europeans buy and pay) up to 45% of consumers pay cashless whenever they have the opportunity. The pandemic has accelerated the shift to cashless payments, as declared by up to 34% of survey respondents. “, continues to bring the target companies closer to our market.
And what is most motivating for Ľubica Gubová in this position? Opportunity to work with the entire Slovak market, including government institutions, and have the opportunity to influence it. “At the same time, as a multinational company that really operates around the world, it can gain a lot of important experience, which we can use in the next step in our local market.”, specifies.
No one doubts that working in such a position is challenging. Therefore, it is necessary to relax and actively recharge your energy. Ľubica likes to travel the world: “In addition to the opportunity to see beautiful places, taste great food and experience something new, traveling best opens up horizons for a person. The more we get to know the world around us, the other countries and the life in them, the more we then appreciate what we have at home. ” he says. At present, her hobby is considerably limited by the situation in the world, and I am all the more looking forward to being able to do so again without restrictions.
Slovak visa team
The Visa team in Slovakia is not big. In addition to Ľubice, however, it consists of other experienced experts in the financial sector. Ľuboš Kováč became part of the Visa team in February 2021 as an Account Executive for managing relationships with Slovak clients of the company. He gained experience in Tatra banka, where he worked in various positions up to the regional branch director in Bratislava. Ľuboš is a passionate golfer and he also transformed this passion into the Visa golf tournament, which they organize for business partners. He has been another member of the Visa team since March Radovan Sklenár. He also works as an Account Executive and is responsible for managing relationships with Visa clients on the Slovak market. He started at VUB and later worked at Tatra banka. He likes to relax in the mountains, where he goes to “empty his head”, above all he relaxes to empty the beauties of Slovak nature. This complements Martin Hainzl, who is in charge of the development of the acceptance network in Slovakia, ie that there are as many places in Slovakia where consumers can pay cashless – by payment card, mobile phone or other intelligent device. Martin started in the telecommunications sector, where he was fascinated by the development of new technologies. The financial sector appreciates that it has a major impact on economic development and more innovative solutions. He recharges “flashlights” with sports activities such as cycling and running. The Visa team closes Ivana Findurová to the position of Client Marketing Manager, within which he is responsible for managing marketing campaigns in cooperation with the company’s bank clients. Ivana has held marketing positions in various sectors. She gained experience in the financial sector at the ZUNO digital bank, where she conducted over-the-air campaigns for credit products. She likes to spend her free time actively in nature – in summer with a backpack on her back, in winter on skiing.
Visa represents a diverse and inclusive environment in which different perspectives are appreciated. At the same time, diversity is not just a word – it is one of the company’s strengths. That is why they do not hesitate to fill successful positions in Visa. It is not at all that women can be co-workers in business very effectively. It seems that the combination of women and her experienced colleagues was a good partner for the company in Slovakia.
