Ukraine has set a record in the ranking of the best universities in 2022
The annual ranking of the best developing universities in Europe and Central Asia for 2022 has been published.
This was reported UNN with reference to the global research consulting center QS Quacquarelli Symonds and the Ministry of Education and Science.
Among the 450 best institutions of higher education, there are 41 Ukrainian.
Director of the Ben Sauter think tank, the absolute number of Ukrainian universities among the best in Eastern Europe and Central Asia has increased from 25 to 41. This is a new record in the history of this regional ranking.
The following are the 10 higher education institutions of Ukraine that have passed the list:
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 35th place;
- National Technical University of Ukraine, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky – 63rd place;
- VN Karazin Kharkiv National University – 69th place;
- National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute – 105th place;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University – 106th place;
- Sumy State University – 122 place;
- National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy – 131st place;
- Odessa II Mechnikov National University – 166th place;
- National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine – 183rd place;
- Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 191st place.
According to them, 16 universities entered the ranking for the first time, 4 universities improved their positions last year, and 7 universities kept their positions.

To compile a regional ranking of QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings, 10 indicators are taken into account: the academic reputation of the educational institution, its reputation among employers, faculty and students, the number of publications per teacher and staff, the number of citations per publication, some foreign faculty and staff , parts of foreign students, teachers and staff with a degree, the depth of international research teams and the presence of educational institutions in the online environment.
According to the Times Higher Education magazine, ten Ukrainian universities have been included in the ranking of the best universities in the world.
Earlier, twenty Ukrainian universities were ranked among the best universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
And the rating of the global analytical agency in the field of higher education QS Quacquarelli Symonds includes four Ukrainian educational institutions.
