the Swiss cooperation – SECO has launched its country program 2021-2024, which, with an investment of 80 million US dollars, sets the framework for the continuity of Switzerland’s economic cooperation in Peru.
In recent years, Peru has increased its participation in the world economy with its accelerated economic growth.
However, in many cases this growth has not been inclusive and sustainable enough and has faced significant management and competitiveness challenges.
In doing so, Swiss cooperation aims to contribute to overcoming these challenges by promoting sustainable and decentralized growth while taking economic, social and ecological aspects into account.
The Country Program 2021-2024 aims to strengthen the favorable conditions for the development of Peru by setting two complementary thematic priorities: i) promoting resilient sub-national growth centers and ii) developing a competitive, innovative and sustainable private sector.

For his part, Alain Bühlman, Head of Swiss Cooperation – SECO in Peru, confirmed that SECO will continue to support Peru’s decentralization agenda in key issues such as public finances, water and wastewater, and the integration of producer organizations and companies in global value chains.
