Russia has changed by the degradation of civil society in Ukraine: Ukraine: Former USSR: Lenta.ru
Russia expressed its non-contamination with the degradation of civil society in Ukraine and shared the similar opinion of the UN, presented in the report of the mission of the organization for human rights “Space for civil society and fundamental freedoms in Ukraine”. This is stated in the comments on website Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“It was especially clearly manifested on the eve, during and after the elections to local authorities in 2020,” the department noted.

The ministry said that the organization’s observation mission is not the first time that the Ukrainian authorities continue to purge the country from opposition forces. First of all, the Sharia Party and the Opposition Platform – for Life are under attack.
Earlier, the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that the Ukrainian authorities should adequately respond to protest actions and not use them as a basis for fighting the opposition and infringing on freedom of speech. The ex-Interior Minister reimbursed the country’s leadership for being adequate and asked him to restrain himself from trying to “curb freedom or close regular TV channels, or declare a coup d’etat performed by opposition parties.”
