The event is organized by producer Robin Suchánek. “I decided to organize this memorial project because I respect President Havel and consider it important not only to remember his person, but also his values and timeless views. I very much appreciate the fact that many Czech and foreign personalities participate in the project, and that thanks to the kindness and support of partners, operators of individual premises, performers, entire technicians and volunteers, the program can be organized without admission, “ says the project producer Robin Suchánek.
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the death of the first president of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel, a number of commemorative events are taking place not only in the center of Prague on Saturday. The public will be able to remember the former president by visiting discussions, cinemas, photo exhibitions, concerts, participating in a memorial procession or on social networks and in the broadcasting of some domestic televisions by watching video interviews recorded with colleagues and friends of Václav Havel.
Those interested can find the program of the event at Facebook event page.
The celebrations on November 17 took several forms in Prague yesterday. On Národní třída, people laid a bouquet and candles at the monument to the Velvet Revolution, and while in the Old Town Square, according to police estimates, 10,000 people demonstrated against government measures …

More than 70 Czech and foreign personalities are already participating in the whole project and about forty people are cooperating with it. “The most demanding of all these events was a video project that we shot with four cameramen. Because everyone has commitments that prevented one of them from devoting themselves to the project, I had to film for each day to schedule with someone else. However, Jana Plavec, Tomáš Kozel, Jakub Bartoš and Ray Baseley did very well. We managed to record six interviews a day, so a unique material with more than 39 interviews could be created, “ reveals Suchánek.
The main photograph of Václav Havel, which is used in all graphic visuals of this memorial project, was provided by the photographer and founder of the Prague Culinary Institute Roman Vaněk. The logo and complete design of the project 10 years without VH was designed and created by the artist, graphic artist Pavel Šťastný.
“When I was approached to show up on this project, I didn’t hesitate for a minute. I consider it important, especially today, to remember the personality of Václav Havel, so I am glad to be able to help this project, “Says the artist Pavel Šťastný, author of the logo of the Civic Forum or a poster for the first free elections with a portrait of the General Assembly
