Dijon. Drug trafficking, arrival of Amazon… The summary of François Rebsamen’s Facebook live
Closure of the LiNO tunnel: “I’m still flabbergasted”
Asked about the traffic difficulties on the LiNo, especially at the Ahuy roundabout, François Rebsamen took the opportunity to discuss the closure of the Talant tunnel, between Thursday 9 and Sunday 12 December. “I have never seen a ring road with a two-tube tunnel that is so often closed! I’m always flabbergasted to see that, especially when you don’t warn people, ”he blurted out.
He also said that the work to relieve congestion at the Ahuy roundabout, scheduled for the fall of 2022, was late: “I find that it is too long, the development will be completed in December. But we must avoid being a kind of plug in the middle of the LiNo ”.
Drug trafficking, “a plague”
Several Internet users pointing the finger at a certain number of points of deal, the mayor of Dijon recalled that, unlike the national police officers, “the municipal police officers do not have the competence, the training and the means to dismantle drug trafficking”. “It’s a real scourge […] We have to find solutions, we won’t be able to continue like this for long. Should we find a way to legalize cannabis? Allow people to produce cannabis themselves at home? I don’t know, but we have to find solutions. It’s an injury in this country, ”he continued.
Arrival of Amazon in Longvic: “It will be a bit of competition”
We reveal it exclusively at the beginning of November. The giant Amazon will open a delivery agency in Longvic in 2022. An arrival that does not please some residents, referring to “a company that does not pay tax in France and will cut jobs”. On this subject, François Rebsamen recalled that Amazon was going to rehabilitate “an abandoned industrial building of 5,000 m² and create 50 permanent jobs”. He also announced that he had met the general manager of Amazon France, at the Salon des maires. “I asked him, ‘Is it true that you don’t pay tax? He said to me: “We pay 350 M € to the French State, we are big contributors”. Second question: “Is it true that all your staff is precarious and temporary?” He replied “Surely less precarious and temporary than cash registers in supermarkets” “. And to slip: “It will be a bit of competition, the traders must accept it. Me, in any case, I do not buy my books on Amazon ”.
Urban planning: “I am Mister carbon-free concrete”
“Is there a limit to your habit of putting everything in concrete and cramming people in?” With regard to climate change, when do you think you will stop creating heat islands? To this very direct question, the mayor of Dijon defended his policy. “There are 10,000 homes in Dijon that are not satisfied. We are in a tense zone. We build by densifying but not forgetting the revegetation. We make heat islands when we forget to build properly. Or today, all constructions meet regulatory environmental standards. Soon we will have carbon-free concrete, therefore without cement! So they will tell me “You are Mr. Concrete!” “, And I will say” I am Mr. low-carbon concrete! “. This is what environmentalists want, and me too, for the future of the planet. To house people, without spreading out, we densify, ”he argued.
