Celal Karaarslan won the ice cream maker festival in Sicily. He prevailed against 31 competitors with his creation. The evaluation was done by a jury – via a blind tasting.
Celal Karaarslan from the “Alpz Gelato & Cafe” at Platzl in Salzburg has once again caused a sensation with its ice cream. At the two-day Sherbeth Festival in Palermo he won the title with his creation “Coccole Nocciolose” (cuddling hazelnuts). 32 ice cream makers from 18 nations entered the competition. Ten members of the jury took on the blind tasting. Karaarslan is no stranger to the industry: He has already won the Gelato Festival twice – in 2018 with the creation “Cheesecake Royal”, in 2019 with “Hazelnut Dream”.
