The Royal House sent a press release on Wednesday afternoon confirming that the Crown Princess tested positive for COVID-19:

«HRH The Crown Princess tested positive for the coronavirus today, Wednesday, 15 December 2021. Her Royal Highness is in isolation in Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg. They have not been diagnosed with infection in others in the family.
Furthermore, the press release states that the Royal House receives advice in connection with infection detection, and that the Crown Princess will remain in isolation until, according to the current guidelines, it is safe to interrupt the isolation.
It is not clear in what connection Mary was infected. It is also not stated whether this is the Omikron variant or not.
This is the second time someone in the Danish royal family has been infected with corona. Last year, at almost the same time, Prince Christian became infected after a local outbreak at his primary school, Trangegårdskolen in Hellerup.

The head of the royal family, Queen Margrethe, is fortunately well protected. She told back in November, in connection with a press conference at Tivoli in Copenhagen, that she had received the third dose of the corona vaccine.
