Private clinics in Vaucluse are organizing themselves to welcome Covid patients. The Rhône-Durance clinic of the Elsan group opens this Thursday 10 beds to cope with the increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 in Vaucluse. The Avignon hospital has already increased its capacity this week with 10 new beds in the orthopedic department.
At the Rhône-Durance private clinic of the Elsan group, 20 nursing staff will intervene with Covid patients. The other services are reorganizing themselves to postpone non-urgent operations. During the first confinement, the Elsan group had already reorganized its services to create a Covid unit.
In Vaucluse, the incidence rate is 842 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on Wednesday in Vaucluse.
The Elsan group relieves the Avignon hospital from the pressure of the coronavirus
Olivier Bénéton, director of the Elsan group in Vaucluse, explains that his private clinic group is united in this new period of crisis: “Since the start of the fifth wave of coronavirus in Vaucluse, we have been working every day with the Avignon hospital center to relieve it of non-Covid patients. We are opening a 10-bed Covid unit at the Rhône-Durance clinic on Thursday morning. . We deprogram all operations that can be postponed. We are adapting with the early closure of a 17-bed cardiology department.
“In all the other clinics of Vaucluse, the activities that can be reported will be to bring in the staff of Montagard, Urbain V, Fontvert and the Parc clinic in Orange.
