Toulouse. Latécoère announces the acquisition of a subcontractor in aeronautics and defense

The group Latécoère, who has just offered a brand new seat of 11,000 m² rue de Périole, opposite the Roseraie metro station at Toulouse, announced Monday, December 13, 2021, the acquisition of a new subcontractor, which should allow him to conquer new markets. This is the third redemption of its kind since August.
“A definitive agreement” for the acquisition of Mades
A leading partner of major aeronautical manufacturers, the Latécoère group specializes in the fields of aerostructures and interconnection systems. Basically, he designs and manufactures electrical harnesses, wiring, or even aircraft doors for prestigious clients: Airbus of course, but also Boeing, Embraer, Mitsubishi…
The group announces today that it has concluded with American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC) “A final agreement relating to the acquisition of Malaga Aerospace, Defense & Electronics Systems (MADES) ”.
100% of “highly qualified” employees in Spain
MADES is a company of electronics manufacturing, specializing in printed circuit boards for the markets of defense (around 80% of sales), commercial aviation and of industry (20% of sales). “MADES operates from a site at Malaga (Spain) and employs approximately 100 persons qualified qualified ”, indicates Latécoère.

The group believes that the acquisition of MADES offers it “Vertical integration opportunities”, to “better meet all the product needs of its customers for electrical wiring interconnection systems”.
With the acquisition of MADES, Latécoère intends to “develop on the American Defense market segment ”, but also significant synergies within the ‘interconnection’ division of La técoère, while creating our number 1 position for avionics furniture, ”he explained.
Latécoère also believes that MADES will bring back “new solutions for the future generation of aircraft ”, and thus hopes to achieve its “ambition to provide innovative solutions to the sector” more than ever engaged in the quest for a green aircraft.
The third acquisition since August
“I am delighted with this transaction”, reacted Thierry Mootz, the new CEO of Latécoère, who sees it as “excellent news for both management teams and employees”. It’s already the third growth operation external since August. During the inauguration of his new vessel in December, he was entrusted to an admiral: “We hope to be able to announce a new European acquisition in the coming days”, more details.
“MADES is a leading company in its market (…). After the acquisitions of SDM in Mexico and TAC in Belgium, this is the third acquisition since the capital increase carried out in August”.
If “the Covid was a very difficult test”, Thierry Mootz had indicated that he wanted to prepare for the future by resuming growth. To this end, the group – which used all the mechanisms put in place by the French State (PGE, APLD, etc.) at the height of the crisis – carried out a capital increase of 222 million euros this summer.
Latécoère, “an exceptional company”
For his part, the president of AIAC, Leonard M. Levie, be satisfied with ceding this activity to this flagship of the Pink City: “Latécoère is an exceptional company within the aerospace industry, and its demands will enable MADES to reach new heights”.
Listed on the stock exchange, the Latécoère group announced that it would communicate “further information” when the transaction is closed, still “subject to a certain number of prior authorizations”. Compliance with regulations on foreign direct investments in the defense sector on the other side of the Pyrenees, it must notably obtain the approval of the Spanish Council of Ministers, scheduled for the first half of 2022.
