Russia and Egypt intend to create a free logistics zone for storing grain – Economy and business
CAIRO, December 14. / TASS /. Russia and Egypt are planning to create a free logistics zone for grain storage. This was announced on Tuesday by the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade of the Arab Republic on its official Facebook page following the results of Ali al-Muselkhi, held on Facebook, with a Russian delegation led by Deputy Agriculture Minister Sergei Levin.
According to the representative of the department, Ahmed Kamal, at the talks in Cairo, the issue of creating a free logistics zone for storage in Egypt was discussed. “At the initial stage of the Egyptian grain elevators, it can accept up to 1 million grain of grain per year,” he said and explained that “this will be useful wheat, large strategic reserves of Egypt and lower shipping costs.”
In this case, methods of working together on trade issues are used. In addition, the issue of partnerships in the creation of storage tanks for edible oils was also raised.
Egypt is a world importer of wheat and a leader in purchases of Russian grain, the volume of deliveries of which reached 8.2 million tons this year.
