Lisbon candidate Theater de Revista for Intangible Heritage
The Municipal Assembly of Lisbon approved, this Tuesday afternoon, a presentation to UNESCO of the Teatro de Revista’s candidacy for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The PSD proposal had no votes against, recording only the abstentions of the PS and independents.
The proposal of the Social Democrats approved at this Tuesday’s meeting also includes a recommendation to the Chamber to consider Teatro de Revista as a “cultural activity that represents the city of Lisbon”.
The same document refers to the importance of the Lisbon City Council sensitizing “the sovereign bodies, in particular the President of the Republic, the Assembly of the Republic and the Government, as well as other public and private institutions, to the importance of this candidacy”.
The proposal also points out that a Scientific Committee and an Advisory Board must be noted, which “prepare this candidacy with due technical and scientific quality, always with the involvement of the magazine theater community and a wide range of public entities and private, responsible for the intergenerational transmission of this performative genre, as well as for its production, recreation and interpretation”.
