“Montero” by Lil Nas X was the most listened to song on Spotify in Portugal. The song by the American rapper, which gave the title to his first studio album, was released in March of this year and was successful in Portuguese playlists.
The music video for “Montero (Call me by Your Name)” has more than 400 million views on Youtube.
Second in the top music listened in Portugal, is the “Driver’s License” by Olivia Rodrigo, voted artist of the year by Time magazine. The song by the 23-year-old American pop artist was second in Portugal, but was the one that added more streams worldwide.
Brazilian funk won third and fourth places. “Disco Arranhado – Funk Remix” by Malu and DJ Lucas Beat was the third most heard song by the Portuguese, followed by “Bipolar” by Mc Davi, Mc Pedrinho and Mc Don Juan, very popular in Tik Tok dances.
rapper english’s 2020 single WNTD range “Butterflies” it was in fifth place, the first Portuguese song in the top 10. In sixth and seventh places we have two repeaters: Lil Nas X with “Industry Baby (ft. Jack Harlow) and Olivia Rodrigo with “Good 4 you”.
African pop appears in eighth in the top with a duo “Shift”. The theme “I love you” from the album “Yellow”, released in 2020, was one of the most listened to in Portugal.
In ninth place is another hit from Tik Tok: “Type Gin” by Brazilian MC Kevin o Chris, known for the chorus “She’s moving”. “Blinding Lights from The Weeknd close the top. Despite having been released in 2019, the song from the album “After Hours” remains one of the favorites of the Portuguese.
