Delivery greener Lambertus Zijlplein – Municipality of Amsterdam
The Lambertus Zijlplein will be greener and cozier. Trees and grasses have been planted. The green was completed on Monday 13 December. Alderman Wedemeijer visited the square that day together with district administrator Erik Bobeldijk.
The kale, petrified Lambertus Zijlplein has become a bit greener. Although you can’t see it well yet, trees and grasses have been planted. Seating edges have also been placed, so that residents can enjoy the sun in the spring. In this way Lambertus Zijlplein is gradually becoming a place where it is fun, safe and pleasant to stay.
Designing with the neighbourhood
Local residents could contribute ideas in various ways about a new design for the square. For example, through consultation sessions and surveys. The input of local residents has been incorporated into the final design as much as possible. There will be more trees and grasses. We are also looking at a possible work of art on the square.
Grand opening
Unfortunately, a planned planned opening could not take place due to the corona measures. Instead, alderman Wedemeijer paid a visit to the square to talk to concerned residents. it is possible, there will be a re-opening for the neighborhood. Future cafes will also be added later, to reflect on the future of the square together with residents, entrepreneurs and organizations. We will keep you informed.
