After the CRS Alpes, the PGHM of Annecy victim of a malicious act in the mountains
Four days after the acts of vandalism committed on vehicles of the CRS Alpes en Maurienne during an intervention, mountain rescuers were again victims of malicious acts on Tuesday morning, this time in Haute-Savoie. Gendarmes from the PGHM in Annecy have their bags stolen on the sidelines of a training session at Semnoz. Two gendarme jackets, personal belongings, as well as emergency equipment belonging to Samu 74 were stolen.
Bags “of civilian appearance”
During the training of the soldiers dedicated to the search for avalanche victims, the stolen bags were placed on the snow front of the Haute-Savoie resort. Unlike the degradation of the CRS Alpes rescue vehicle on Saturday at the bottom of the Grand Cucheron pass, however, it is difficult to say that the gendarmerie was directly targeted at Semnoz. In total, four bags were stolen, including two belonging to doctors from Samu 74.
“We are not sure it was oriented“explains Etienne Rolland, captain of the PGHM Annecy,”the bags were civilian in appearance, placed about fifteen meters from vehicles on the edge of the snow front. There were a lot of people. I am not at all sure that the action was directed against the gendarmerie“.
