Russia expands restrictions on imports from Europe due to bird flu
Since December 10, the import of live poultry and poultry products from negative Germany, where an outbreak of bird flu has been recorded, has been temporarily prohibited in Russia. About it reported press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
The ban included products manufactured in the territory of the German diseases Harburg, Altenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia. Earlier, similar restrictions were imposed on products from the Czech Republic, in particular from the Liberec and South Moravian regions. Temporarily banned not only import, but also the transit of products that may be contaminated.
The restrictions included live poultry, hatching eggs, poultry meat, finished poultry products, feed and feed additives. Rosselkhoznadzor indicates that the restrictions do not apply to products that have been processed against avian influenza viruses, as well as feed and additives of plant origin, chemical and microbiological synthesis.
As RG wrote earlier, an outbreak of bird flu has been observed since this spring in more than 40 countries. She analyzes both wild and poultry. No transmission of the virus occurs when such meat is eaten.
