Quality of life, Rome province 13th out of 107. More than 20 positions compared to last year
Rome climbs up the rankings and gains 19 positions compared to last year. It is the post-pandemic relaunch effect. According to the 32nd edition of the “Quality of life” report by Il Sole 24 Ore, the capital is in 13th place since the 32nd in 2020 out of 107 provinces analyzed.
The main data of Rome
The ranking was drawn up according to six indicators: wealth and consumption, business and work, environment and services, demography, society and health, justice and safety, culture and leisure. In particular, Rome enters the top ten of the “quality of life of the elderly”, one of the three generational indices that debut this year in the survey and is distinguished by levels of education, buildings covered by broadband and museum heritage.
On the other hand, the ranking of the “quality of life of young people” is bad (an index based on 12 parameters including outdoor sports areas, average age of the first child, concerts, discos). Here the capital is among the last provinces of the ranking in 106th place. Instead, it loses 13 positions, going down to 42nd in the chapter “wealth and consumption” and comes in seventh for “justice and security” (an indicator that photographs the reported complaints relating to the total of crimes committed in the territory in 2020).
It then earns 4 positions, finishing in 28th place in the item “environment and services” (indicator based on 18 parameters of 5 macro-areas: environment, air, water, waste, mobility) and conquers the podium in third place for “culture and leisure”, where it rises by 25 positions compared to 2020.
The other cities in the ranking
As for the other cities of Italy, in the first three positions of the ranking we find Trieste, which rises by 4 points compared to 2020, Milan which gains 10 positions, and Trento which maintains the third place. Also this year the Mezzogiorno is bringing up the rear. Crotone keeps the last position, anticipated by Foggia and Trapani. Furthermore, out of ninety indicators, the last positions are occupied in 57 cases by provinces of the South or of the Islands: to find cities that are not in the south, it is necessary to reach 83rd position with Latina, Frosinone (82) and Imperia (77).
Trapani, Foggia and Crotone close the ranking.
