The Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival ended by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco has just been canceled. And it is the same for the New Generation competition, the jury of which is by his eldest daughter Pauline Ducruet.
The disappointment must be immense. Both for Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and Pauline Ducruet, as well as for circus artists and circus enthusiasts who had already bought their tickets. This Friday, December 10, 2021, its organizing committee, taken over by the younger of Prince Albert II’s two sisters, announced, by a press release, that the 45th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival was postponed for one year, in view of the health situation in the world. And it is the same for the 10e New Generation, the competition for young circus artists whose jury is acquired by Pauline Ducruet. It is specified that this decision was taken in agreement with the main government.

The 2020 vintage had already had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, in early October, morale was high among their organizers. On October 11, the box office was open for the eight shows scheduled from January 22 to 30, 2022.e and 10e editions under the title “Les grands jubilé”.
Appointment given in January 2023
“We sincerely regret this decision, but given the responsibility for the health and safety of everyone, we are sure of your understanding”, wrote the organizing committee, which recalls that “the International Circus Festival of Monte- Carlo is the biggest circus event in the world with a gathering of over 200 artists from 20 different countries and with a very international audience ”. Appointment is therefore given for January 2023. “In a period liberated from the pandemic and ready for the big circus party”, hope the organizers.
