New articulated trolleybuses for Brno. Take a look at the first ride
/ PHOTO, VIDEO / More than 120 people can accommodate the new Škoda 27Tr articulated trolleybus. From Monday, passengers will ride with them in Brno. Most often on the backbone lines 25.26 and 37.

The Brno transport company already has thirteen at its disposal, another seven will be delivered by the manufacturer by the end of this year. “Between their physical delivery and commissioning, the cars need to be inspected, the control and information system revived, drivers and mechanics trained,” said Miloš Havránek, General Manager of the transport company.
The transport company will pay 239 million crowns for twenty new cars. He plans to buy twenty for the same price next year. “Reducing emissions in the city and greening public transport are a priority for the city management. Trolleybus transport, together with the tram example, is an environmentally friendly transport. We will continue to place emphasis on the renewal of cars in electric traction, “said Brno Mayor Markéta Vaňková.

The new 27Tr trolleybuses are air-conditioned, partially upholstered seats, passengers can use USB chargers. The new cars will replace the older trolleybuses of the 15Tr, 22Tr, 25Tr and 14Tr and 21Tr types. “Some have been driving in Brno since the 1980s and 1990s and are on the verge of endurance. Part of it is awaiting liquidation, the transport company from Ústí nad Labem has expressed interest in nine 25Tr-type units, “said Hana Tomaštíková, a spokeswoman for the transport company.
Brno is the largest trolleybus operator in the Czech Republic. Almost 140 trolleybuses now run through the city’s streets on twelve lines.
