Jean Castex visiting Marseille on Monday
The Prime Minister is traveling to France’s second largest city today. On the program: meetings with local elected officials to talk about the large Marseille plan and the health crisis.
Fifth wave, metropolitan reform, garbage strike… The Prime Minister could tackle many subjects today in Marseilles. He arrives accompanied by Jacqueline Gourault, Minister of Territorial Cohesion.
In the official program, Jean Castex will start with an interview with Mayor Benoît Payan this morning at the town hall. The second meeting of the morning will take place at the Departmental Council with Martine vassal, president of the metropolis and the department. He will then have lunch with metropolitan elected officials. The garbage collection strike could be part of the discussions, difficult for the Prime Minister to ignore garbage heaps that accumulate in the streets of the city. In addition, after this interview with the Prime Minister, the elected representatives of the Metropolis meet (again) the unions for negotiations this afternoon at the Pharo.
The second part of this ministerial visit focuses on the health crisis with first the visit of the vaccination center at Parc chanot. Jean Castex will also be visiting The Timone where he should interact with caregivers. There will also be the presentation of the memorandum of understanding on the financing of the renovation operation of this hospital. Finally, the day will end with a meeting with parliamentarians from the department.
