Health – Hanover – 2G rule in Lower Saxony’s retail trade in force – Health
Hanover (dpa / lni) – Since Monday, the 2G rule in retail has also been in effect in Lower Saxony’s shops. Those who have not been vaccinated against Corona or have recovered from the virus can only use it to shop for daily needs. The Verdi union welcomed the fact that trade can remain open under these conditions. From the employees’ point of view, this is a reasonable solution to do everything to protect employees, but also customers.
To be positively emphasized are concepts in which niece shops are responsible for the responsible control of the 2G rule, a single Verdi spokesman. He referred to cities that allow 2G verification with the issue of ribbons or stamps.
However, on Monday there was also some confusion with ribbons. In Hildesheim, for example, many customers showed the ribbon that was gold-plated as proof of 2G-plus at the Christmas market there. However, it is not valid for retail. “You have to explain a lot,” reported Kerstin Regner of her 2G controls as the deputy branch manager of Woolworth in Hildesheim.
The trade association had already stated in advance that with the introduction of the 2G rule, it was to be expected that the Christmas business in the inner cities would largely come to a standstill.
