Classical music, Flammen | The Flame of Tomorrow: Classic with strong women
Tuesday 14 December will be a very special concert in Flammen – with Clara Schumann’s life and music on the program and for beautiful, local musicians on stage.
Clara Schumann was an outstanding concert pianist and among the most significant female composers in German romance. She was married to Robert Schumann and a close friend of Johannes Brahms.
It is the music composed by these three that fills this classic, and on stage are Sunniva Lien Olsen and Josephine Hsieh.
Sunniva and Josephine
Sunniva has studied at the Grieg Academy and has a master’s degree in classical singing from the Royal Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. She has appeared in a number of operas and given several solo concerts. Olsen is also a colleague of Hsieh at Nittedal Cultural School.
Josephine Hsieh lives in Hakadal and has an impressive music education from the USA and Norway, and has won several international awards. She has been central during several classics in Flammen, not least when the Steinway grand piano was inaugurated with Grieg’s A minor concerto. This is Sunniva and Josephine’s first concert together.
– We arrange for a good distance between the audience at small tables, and welcome you to an atmospheric concert in the Great Hall with practicing with a lot of music in your heart, says culture house manager Mariann Torsvik.
