Reached a lot

In addition to a very good financial and structural foundation, these two cornerstones enable our University to continue to develop successfully.
Further milestones for Innsbruck as a science location in recent years were our 350th anniversary, which we were able to celebrate in 2019 together with people from the entire region, and our membership in AURORA, one of around 40 European Universities networks, which our location and make our university more visible.
#The new building at Innrain 52a will be ready for occupancy in a few months, further important extensions in Universitätsstrasse, Fürstenweg and Campus Technik are planned and one of my long-cherished wishes, the construction of a ‘House of Physics’, is now closed . I have therefore decided to give the University Council and the Senate the opportunity to find a new rector for our university without time pressure and in a transition phase and ideally to open this person and the team. “
Next Steps
It is now the task of the University Council and Senate to first select a corresponding announcement for the office of Rector from among the applicants in the coming weeks and months and then to appoint a new Rector. The regular term of office of a rectorate lasts four years and since the last amendment to the law, the maximum term of office of a rector is twelve years in a row.
