Extraliga starts on Sunday! Sparta will be defended, among the favorites also I.ČLTK or Prostějov
The matches of the preliminary round of this year’s Moneta Tennis Extra League will start on Sunday, December 12. This year will be played almost entirely in Prague Prostějov, while the finals are evolving in Milovice. The title will be defended by TK Sparta Prague (pictured in 2020), which, however, has a lot of hard work ahead of it. This is also due to the fact that the selection of I.ČLTK Prague will challenge in the basic group.
The Extraliga will be played from December 12 to 17. On Sunday, it will offer two pre-round matches, the winners will pass into the semi-final groups. The four best teams of the past year are already waiting for them.
TK Sparta Praha and I.ČLTK Praha are in the Prague semi-final group, which will be joined by the winner of the preliminary round, in which RPM Praha and Severočeská tenisová will meet. TK Agrofert Prostějov and TK PRECHEZA Přerov are deployed in the Prostějov group. This pair will be completed by either TLC Pardubice or TK Spartak Jihlava.
The semi-final groups will end on Wednesday 15 December. The final is scheduled for Friday, December 17 and will be played in Milovice. It will be possible to watch the final broadcast live on the Nova Sport station. The complete program of the extra league will then be possible to follow on www.vistasport.cz.
Preliminary lists show that the biggest favorites are both Prague clubs and Prostějov. For example, Kateřina Siniaková, Stefanie Vögeleová, Tomáš Macháč and Lukáš Rosol will replace Sparta. I.ČLTK, which will challenge Sparta on Monday, will deploy other available domestic women of tennis, Karolína Muchová, Markéta Vondroušová and Tereza Martincová. Norbert Gombos or Jonáš Forejtek will replace this team.
In the Prostějov team, on the other hand, we find a fairly strong male representation. Jiří Veselý, Jiří Lehečka, Zdeněk Kolář and Vít Kopřiva will play for Agrofert. The names of female tennis players are also interesting, among whom we can find mainly talented juniors Linda and Brenda Fruhvirtova and Sara Bejlek.
If we look at the rosters, RPM Praha will once again welcome Ekaterina Alexandrovova to its ranks, PRECHEZA Přerov will replace Tallon Griekspoor, the winner of this year’s eight challengers and the 65th player in the world!
