Drunk driver drives through the city with two flat tires | Antwerp
AntwerpA drunk man drove through the streets of Antwerp in the evening with a car of which two tires were flat. The police suspect that he hit the concrete blocks at the Kiel exit on the A12 and simply drove on. As if that wasn’t enough, the 41-year-old man also tested positive for drugs.
Through the extensive network of cameras in the city, police officers were able to spot a vehicle that was driving on the Jan De Voslei last night. It was striking that the car had no less than two flat tires and clearly different parts. Nevertheless, the driver stubbornly continued to drive.
The vehicle was found and held by an intervention patrol near the Kiel Park. The car was badly damaged, but the 41-year-old driver really took the seriousness of the situation into account. Maybe that couldn’t be because he tested positive for alcohol and drugs. Some cocaine was also found in his broken car.
The decreed decided to further check the route that the driver had taken and based on the debris, they were able to determine that the man had hit the concrete blocks at the height of the A12 and had continued to drive. His vehicle was immediately withdrawn. The man will have to answer to the police judge.
