what changes level 3 of the school health protocol
This Thursday, December 9, the health protocol in force in primary schools in the Rhône and Lyon goes to level three. Full update on the changes caused by these new measures.
In Lyon, as everywhere in France, the health protocol goes to level 3 in primary schools this Thursday, December 9. Announced by the Prime Minister at the exit of a Health Defense Council on Monday, new measures apply as of today in the classrooms. Faced with the outbreak of the epidemic at school, four levels have been staggered (green, yellow, orange and red) and generate changes such as:
Wearing the mask
As of this Thursday, the wearing of a mask is required in the playgrounds. More broadly, it is becoming compulsory in enclosed spaces and outdoors, for students as well as for staff and teachers.
School cafeteria
Another measure of this third level: the limitation of mixing between students of different groups. According to the Ministry of National Education, this rule is “all the more important in the first stage, where the non-mixing between the pupils of different classes must imperatively be respected during the restoration. ” Concretely, it is mandatory to take care not to mix different classes during lunch, a time when wearing a mask is no longer possible. It is therefore strongly recommended to ensure “group stability“during meals by having the pupils lunch”every day at the same table in the first degree, maintaining a distance of at least two meters with those of the other classes.
As for cleaning, it must be done several times a day. The tables in the canteen are cleaned and disinfected, at least after each service and, this is the novelty, if possible after each meal.
Physical activity
Jean Castex also announced restrictions on the practice of sport in establishments. Teachers of physical education and sports must, as a priority, give their lessons outdoors. However, when indoor practice is essential due to bad weather or unavailable facilities, only low-intensity activities that may involve wearing a mask and a distance of 2 meters are authorized.
Vaccination and vacations
Although the vaccination of children at risk from 5 to 11 years old is about to begin, on December 15, the advance of the school holidays, a time mentioned, was not retained however.
