San Marino. Finished the course on performance evaluation in the Public Administration
The course on “Performance Evaluation” organized with the collaboration of the University of the Republic of San Marino and the support of the San Marino national section of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences.
The course on “Performance Evaluation”, explains in a note la general directorate of the public function of San Marino, is “divided into several meetings with teachers from Italian universities and public and private managers”, and “saw the participation of about fifty executives and managers of the Extended Public Sector, thus called to reflect on the role played and on how to make it more effective their daily action, through the analysis of projects, organizations, and the reflections of the daily activities carried out within their role “.
At the base of this typology, according to the data set by the general management of the function “there is the need to update, in an effective way, managerial action in the Public Administration, the attempt often hinders problems of a different nature, accentuated when trying of companies uncritically managerial experiences and best practices from the private sector to the public sector “.
Precisely for this reason “training initiatives are necessary that allow top management to understand the managerial role in the evaluation of performance, in the light of the specificities of public organizations”.
“This continues the collaboration undertaken between the University and the general direction of the Public Function, already implemented in the past for other initiatives carried out with a view to a territorial system in continuous improvement through an ever deeper qualification of the Enlarged Public Sector, for a constant improvement of the subjects involved in the management of ‘public affairs’ and an increase in efficiency – the general direction of the Public Function -. It should be emphasized that in this case there is also the support of the San Marino section of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, an association formed by managers, officials of the Public Administration and scholars of the sector, born in the early nineties and associated with the International Institute of Sciences administrative sciences to which the State of San Marino joined in 1953. The objective of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences is to develop and develop projects and initiatives aimed at favoring the study, processing and dissemination of works, studies, research and experiences aimed at improving the knowledge and practice of the administration, with at the center the theme of the managerial role and the improvement of public services “.
A conclusion of the course, last Thursday 2 December, “a moment of meeting was also held with the management figures who have recently released the Public Administration for retirement, recognizing the important role they played in a constant perspective of improving the management action in the public sector in continuously evolving sectors “.
