Why were there police officers and closed streets Tuesday evening in Sotteville-lès-Rouen?

A large police force was deployed on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 8 p.m., in Sotteville-lès-Rouen (Seine-Maritime). The police – around twenty agents – took up a position at Place Voltaire. From streets were closed and the diverted circulation. What to question the inhabitants at the sight of this large-scale operation.

It was actually a question of a reconstitution of a case, as a judicial source indicates to us, without however specifying the fact in question. The police officers in charge of monitoring and investigating were put in charge of the reconstitution zone, by investigators from the DTPJ 76 (territorial directorate of the judicial police).
Diversions have been put in place at Place Voltaire, rue Bugnot, as well as rue Sotteville and at the corner of rue Méridienne. Barriers had also been installed by the town hall. The municipal decree provided for traffic bans until midnight.
