Viktoria Žižkov bus stop: It is too short, the locals lament
Shortly after its construction, one of the seven new stops on bus line 101 remains critical. This is the final stop named after Viktoria Zizkov. Thanks to its proximity to the stadium, the legendary Žižkov football club got its name. According to the plan from the town hall, the stop is divided into two parts – exit and boarding.
The width of the boarding stop at the narrowest point should be about 3 meters. It is a place where the bus stops its ancestor. In reality, however, the narrowest point measures only 2 meters and a few centimeters. “If the plan is valid, then I think quite clearly both the contractor and the man who took over the construction erred. “ tells Bleska one of the inhabitants of the “three” Martin. The locals do not spare Ondřej Rut, for whom a wave of criticism has fallen.
Underestimation of preparation
The contracting authority for the implementation of traffic signs for all seven new stops is the Technical Administration of Roads of the Capital City of Prague. m of Prague. However, the stops are handled by the Regional Organizer of Prague Integrated Transport (ROPID). As the councilor told Blesk, he informed the organization immediately after finding out the problem, so that he could evaluate the seriousness of the problem. Insufficient space for the bus was created by the fault of the designer, who did not take the geodetic survey of the street and was based only on insufficiently accurate data from the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR).
On the other hand, geodetic surveying is usually not acquired for traffic sign projects. “At first, lanes were drawn, and then there is less space left for stops,” adds Ondřej Rut. However, he does not see the early situation as a deadly threat. “From my point of view, this is a not very serious mistake, the station bus only extends negligibly into the lane and repainting traffic signs could do more harm than good, ”says Ondřej Rut.
Question mark correction
ROPID is now awaiting an assessment of the severity of the problem and possible remedial action. However, in winter, the modification of traffic signs is problematic. “I would personally evaluate the situation in the spring, I do not expect it to cause any traffic problems,” adds councilor. Since the beginning of December this year, seven new public transport stops have been used to extend bus line 101, which interconnects the inner areas of Vinohrady and Žižkov with Vršovice and tram transport.
“Line 101 runs seven days a week at half-hour intervals, shortened to 20 minutes at weekday peaks. From Vršovice, line 101 continues via Bohdalec, Záběhlice and Zahradní Město na Skalku, and during peak working days it continues to the industrial zone in Hostivař to Zentiva’s final stops, ”added Petr Tomčík, ROPID director. New 10.5-meter-long Solaris three-door three-door buses are used on all connections.
This is what the new design of Prague buses should look like. The first bus will run on line 176 Veronika Foltová
According to Prague 3 councilor, transport is not a serious problem for Ondřej Rut
