Nintendo Switch has the best sales week for both hardware and software in the Netherlands and all of Europe
Dec 8, 2021 – In the week of November 22, there will be more in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe Nintendo Switchconsoles and games sold in any other week since the console’s release*.
The Nintendo Switch was released in March 2017 and is entering its sixth year on the market. The Nintendo Switch family, which currently consists of the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model – sold more hardware than ever in the week starting November 22, breaking the previous record set in November 2019.
Hardware sales were spurred by a limited-time bundle consisting of a Nintendo Switch console, a download code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and an advisory three-month membership on Nintendo Switch Online, play compatible games online with friends and family.
In addition, week after week, records were broken for Nintendo Switch software sales in Europe in November 2021. In the week of November 15, more Nintendo games were sold in Europe than during any period in the console’s history, a record that was surpassed by the following week.
The most successful Nintendo Switch software launch in November was that of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl on Nov 19. In the first weekend these two versions of this new Pokémon adventure were sold, together they sold more than six million copies worldwide*. In the Netherlands, these latest Pokémon adventures became the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch titles ever.

In the week of November 22, more Nintendo Switch consoles and games have been sold than ever in the Netherlands and throughout Europe, during the first weekend of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl worldwide more than six million copies of this new Pokémon adventure are sold.
