In Torrita di Siena the nativity scene reveals the charm of Christmas Eve
There are all the emotions of Christmas Eve in the nativity scene set up inside the church of San Domenico, in Torrita di Siena. The work, created in about two months of work by a group of Torritesi enthusiasts, is titled “The Tree of Dreams” and gives the Nativity a reading that is detached from any canonical representation.
Set on the evening of Christmas Eve, in a childish dimension, full of games, from which it seems that at any moment the characters of The Nutcracker, the nativity scene welcomes the visitor around it, allowing him to see, turning around him, details that open a large fir tree being decorated in view of Christmas day.
The concept of preparation, of waiting, is the central theme of this artistic installation. The meaning of Christmas lies in the enchantment of Christmas Eve and invites you to dream every day, because true magic is the hope placed in what will arrive the next day.
The nativity scene was created with the collaboration of the Pastoral Unit of Torrita di Siena and the Contrada Stazione and with the patronage of the Municipality of Torrita di Siena. From the inauguration, Wednesday 8 December, it can be visited every day from 10 to 22 until Thursday 6 January 2022.
