Formula 1 final 2021 can be seen for free throughout the Netherlands
Good news for Formula 1 fans: the decision in the title fight and Lewis Hamilton is free for everyone to see. This has been announced by provider Ziggo.
The thrilling 2021 season will come to an end in Abu Dhabi this weekend. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton start the much-discussed Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia with an equal number of points in the final race. Whoever consults for the other is – under normal circumstances – world champion. You can’t get more exciting than this.
Ziggo, the exclusive rights holder of Formula 1 in the Netherlands, has announced that all Dutch fans can follow the action live and free of charge. Even those who do not have a subscription can view the final race. All Ziggo channels are open from Friday 10 to Monday 13 December. Formula 1 can be followed via Ziggo Sport on channel 14. “Ziggo makes the Ziggo Sport broadcasts around the denouement of the Formula 1 season available for all of the Netherlands free of charge. This includes that even households without a Ziggo subscription can experience the entire race weekend live at home,” the provider writes in a press release.
Marcel Beerthuizen, director of Ziggo Sport, explains: “It doesn’t get any more exciting than the race next Sunday. The whole of the Netherlands should be able to enjoy such a unique sporting event. That is why we have decided to make the race weekend available to everyone. What a season it has been so far too great and we are looking forward to the decision on Sunday.”
After this race, the rights at Ziggo will disappear. The provider has provided Formula 1 broadcasts in the Netherlands for the past nine years, but has lost the rights to new NENT. The Scandinavian party will broadcast the F1 races in the Netherlands via streaming service Viaplay.
