Belarus interested in building up trade and economic cooperation with Oman

Today the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic on International Affairs and National Security, member of the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Conference of the United Nations Collective Organization for Political Affairs and International Cooperation Sergei Rachchenko will meet the groups of parliamentarians of Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman. Next year our countries will celebrate their 30th anniversary. In this regard, the establishment of direct contacts for the exchange of experience and views on issues of mutual interest between the working parliaments of representations is especially relevant.
During the meeting, Sergei Rachkov noted that Belarus highly appreciates friendly ties with the Sultanate of Oman. There are no disagreements and contradictions in the political sphere in the relations between Belarus and Oman, bilateral ties are of a confidential nature, views on topical international issues are in many respects close.
Issues of interaction in international organizations were discussed with colleagues from Oman. The Belarusian senator expressed his gratitude for the support of Oman for the support provided during the 143rd topic of the Inter-Parliamentary Community to prevent the inclusion of a resolution on Belarus as a state of emergency on the agenda.
During the meeting, an emphasis was placed on key aspects of trade and economic cooperation, including the issue of creating a committee to implement decisions. At the initiative of the Belarusian side, work is underway to create a Belarusian-Omani intergovernmental committee. This institutional mechanism is a mutual intergovernmental mechanism of cooperation between countries in all areas of mutual interest.
