Incredible Rouennais! Authors of a draw, 3-3 this Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in Tampere, Finland, during the first leg of the Champions Hockey League quarter-finals, the Rouen Dragons can believe in their chance to qualify. It should be noted that playing this match, already, is in itself an achievement, the Dragons being the first in France in history to reach this level in this competition.
After a good start to the match, the Normans will be sanctioned on their first sanction with a goal from Platzer (1-0, 6’09) for Tampere. More and more written, the Rouen people bowed again at the end of the period on a realization of Merela (2-0, 17’14). The start of the second third time, one-sided, left nothing to think of good for the Dragons who suffered a real attack-defense on the part of the Finns.
Heroic and prolific
However, Fabrice Lhenry’s players would take advantage of their first numerical superiority to return to the mark thanks to Loïc Lampier (2-1, 28’04). Galvanized by this corn, the Dragons obtained a second superiority in the following minutes and would also convert it by Vineyards (2-2, 31’30)! In the space of a few minutes, the game was completely restarted.
Believing more and more in their luck, the Rouen players were the boldest, but were going to cash a new one but inferior by Tanus (3-2, 34’01). Worn once again by a gala Pintaric, author of 39 saves in the match, the Dragons clung and would even equalize by Johnston (3-3, 34’41) which magnificently deceived the Finnish goalkeeper at the edge of the last five minutes. Braver than ever, the Dragons held onto this score to the end to offer themselves a return match that promises to be very hot on Ile Lacroix.
A draw that is worth a victory.
3-3. Return match next week. And this time it will be here. And by then, all will be ice hockey fans.

Sold-out return match
The Rouen Dragons have achieved a real tour de force this evening. With only nine forwards available for this match, five juniors having been selected for the France team for the U20 world championships, the proteges of President Thierry Chaix were able to resist, then believe in their chances against a juggernaut of Finnish hockey.
the return match, scheduled for Tuesday, December 14, 7:30 p.m. in Rouen has been sold out for a week, and will perhaps be the scene of an immeasurable feat for French hockey.
