Double-decker buses go into “pension” – Liechtenstein
SCHAAN – On Friday, December 10th, 2021 there will be the last opportunity to travel through Liechtenstein in a double-decker bus on the LIEmobil lines. The vehicles will then be taken out of service and replaced by new buses.
“For the past twelve years, the double-decker buses from LIEmobil have been part of the streetscape in Liechtenstein,” said LIEmobil in its statement on Tuesday afternoon. After the first two vehicles went into operation in 2009, two more double-deckers followed in 2011. “With 83 seats, the double-deckers are real capacity miracles. The upper deck offers an excellent view of the road and the landscape.” Especially at the beginning, numerous customers drove around the country in double-deckers to enjoy the special view.
The four double-deckers became part of public transport in Liechtenstein through their daily use. Two years ago, the two younger buses were taken out of service and replaced by articulated buses. According to LIEmobil, the articulated buses offer slightly fewer seats, THAT YOU CAN HAVE A PLEASANT COMFORTABLE SENSE OF SPACE AND MORE punctuality. Next Friday I am waiting for the last working day of the remaining two double-deckers. “Anyone who would like to enjoy another double-decker bus trip in Liechtenstein has the last opportunity to do so on Friday. The vehicles are in use all day on line 11 between Sargans and Feldkirch.”
The double-decker buses would not completely disappear from Liechtenstein, emphasizes the LIEmobil. From next week, a new double-decker will be used in school bus traffic for trips to and from the Mühleholz school center.
