Austria’s foreign trade grew strongly in September and is still well above the pre-crisis level. The value of the imports was 15.37 billion euros.
Austria’s foreign trade also grew strongly in September and is still well above the pre-crisis level. The value of imports was 15.37 billion euros, an increase of 20.6 percent compared to the same month last year. Compared to September 2020, exporters increased by 15.9 percent to 14.89 billion euros. The trade balance showed a liability of 0.48 billion euros, as can be seen from current statistics from Statistics Austria.
Austria’s foreign trade grew significantly in September
“Austria’s foreign trade is still in rally mode and only sees the Corona crisis in the rearview mirror. With an increase of 17.2 percent in imports and 15.3 percent in exports compared to September 2019, foreign trade is well above the pre-crisis level”, of the Statistics Austria General Director Tobias Thomas.

There was also growth in imports and exports in the period from January to September 2021. Euro, which corresponds to a growth of 22.5 percent. The value of exports rose by 16.3 percent to 121.79 billion euros compared to the same period in the previous year. Brand import growth for goods from China
There was a marked increase in imports from January to September for goods from China (plus 28.2 percent), Switzerland (27.3 percent) and Italy (plus 26 percent). In the largest area, the increase in absolute figures was shown by Germany’s most important trading partner for Austria (plus 17), with 16.4 percent also showing a significant percent increase in exports. There was also strong export growth with Italy (plus 27.1 percent) and the United States (plus 18.3 percent).
