That will be important the week after December 6th
Vaccination offers now in all municipalities – but with a lunch break
From Monday, December 6th, there will be vaccination offers from the regional administration teams in all 21 municipalities in the Hanover region. Another new feature is that lunch breaks will be introduced between 12 noon and 1 p.m. Cora Hermenau, head of the health department, explains: “The aid organizations are doing us an invaluable service. It is all the more important that the work is designed in such a way that it is affordable. Everyone should be entitled to a lunch break. We hope that everyone will understand that. ”You can read a complete overview of the regional vaccination offers this week in Hanover and the 20 surrounding municipalities here.
Architecture book with Christmas aid bonus – and signature
Hanover has changed a lot since the Expo in 2000 – also optically. The change is accompanied by the new book “Architecture in Hanover since 2000” by HAZ editor Conrad von Meding and photographer Heinrich Hecht on 300 large-format pages (price: 49 euros). This week, bookseller Dirk Eberitzsch is donating 10 euros to the HAZ Christmas aid campaign for every book sold in his Leuenhagen & Paris store on Lister Meiler. There will also be a book signing with the author and photographer on Tuesday from 5 p.m. in the bookstore, Lister Mile 39. You will read the review about the book here.

Viennese classic in a new light
On Thursday, December 9th, something very special will be heard in the baroque gallery hall in Herrenhausen. As part of the Herrenhausen Barock series, the formation La Festa Musicale brings works by Gregor Joseph Werner to life together with an ensemble of soloists. Werner’s oeuvre, which was previously difficult to access and almost only survived in individual parts, was developed by Lajos Rovatkay over decades. It is part of the Viennese classic that was underestimated for a long time. Tickets for the concert on Thursday are still available at prices between 10 and 35 euros, either at the advance booking office in the Künstlerhaus or here. You can read the review of the Werner factory by our cultural critic Stefan Arndt here.
Is the city renewing the bathing area in the Eilenriede?
In the vicinity of “Heiligers Brunnen” in the Eilenriede near Kleefeld there is a historic bathing area, the so-called Kupferloch (Kopperloch) or Teufelsloch. The name is derived from the copper-brown spring water that occurs there and has a strong smell of sulfur. For a long time the hole was considered forgotten and overgrown, was rediscovered in 1963 and renovated in 1991. Now the CDU parliamentary group in the Buchholz-Kleefeld district council is complaining that the historic site is once again becoming overgrown. The city has to expose the bathing area again. In addition, “the copper hole must be better signposted and, for example, provided with a notice board including a QR code.” This makes the Eilenriede easier to experience. The district council will deal with the topic on Thursday from 6.30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. The committee meets in the Hanover Congress Centrum, Niedersachsenhalle B, Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1-3.
