Open innovation and sustainability: the University of San Marino will select a winner for a research with a focus on the territory
“How can a company reap the benefits of the so-called ‘open innovation’, exploiting the knowledge and external resources deriving from reality such as startups and academic institutions, to achieve objectives that involve greater attention on the social, environmental and economic front?
It is one of the questions that forms the background of a research project for which the University of the Republic of San Marino has opened a selection call that will lead to the identification of a figure who will be awarded a research grant with duration one year “.
The University specifies that “As part of the Management Engineering courses, which have been involved for some time in this area of study, a new opportunity is offered to candidates with no more than 35 years of age, without citizenship restrictions and in possession of a master’s degree. The winner of the research fellowship will be asked to involve, among other things, a sample of local companies “.
“Historically – explains Leonardo Tagliente, deputy director of the training courses involved in the project – companies have mainly used closed innovation models, ie on the use of internal resources and skills, to acquire and maintain a competitive advantage over the competition. However, in a context characterized by a high volatility of demand and an ever-increasing complexity of the required products, internal resources and capacities are no longer sufficient and alternative companies can find research and development models, such as that of open innovation. Through this new paradigm – continues the academic – companies are able to assimilate and exploit also flows of knowledge coming from outside their borders. The objective is to investigate the perspectives of the open project of the adoption of innovation on corporate sustainability “.
Applications for admission to the selection must be received by 21 January 2022. The details can be consulted on the website www.unirsm.sm, in the section “calls, competitions and selections”, which can be accessed from the “University” area.
