“Iran will never have atomic weapons”. But hitting nuclear sites is a near impossible mission
The Israeli response to the statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, which claims it is in no rush regarding the Vienna nuclear talks, is the visit of the Mossad chief, David Barnea, who arrives in the United States today to hand over to the top of the American intelligence a dossier documenting Tehran’s progress in uranium enrichment. The message is explicit: Iran is deceiving you with nuclear talks and preparing the atomic bomb, but we will continue to oppose it. During a ceremony dedicated to Mossad agents who had distinguished themselves at work, Barnea had already declared that “Iran will never have nuclear weapons”, promising to “do whatever is necessary to counteract the threat against Israel by any means” . According to Iranian opposition sources, in recent days some foreign drones have entered the skies above the Natanz nuclear plant, probably engaged in a spy mission to document what is happening around the plant and inside it. The Biden administration does not like Israeli nuclear surprises, so Israeli President Herzog and Prime Minister Bennett have already informed the new American ambassador to Jerusalem of the Jewish state’s intentions to protect itself even without the help of its major ally. But hitting Iran’s nuclear sites is a near-impossible mission alone. The only guarantee would be an agreement with Washington, through which the United States will openly cover Israel with a nuclear umbrella. Meanwhile, due to the Iranian atomic bomb, Israel sees the prospect of pace with the countries that are getting closer thanks to the Abrahamic Agreements moving away. After the recent talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran, today the UAE Security Advisor met with the Iranian Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council to discuss military agreements together.
