It currently employs 24 people in Côte-d’Or, in its four establishments, Ahuy, Ouges, Perrigny-les-Dijon or Saulon-la-Chapelle. On each of these Côte-d’oriens sites, two shared houses accommodate these elderly people. They are roommates, that is to say that they share these houses and that they live together. These seniors are practically in autonomy, but can benefit from support. The company Ages et vie opens in January 2022 a new shared apartment in Ruffey-lès-Beaune. Is this a sign that it is working? We put the question to Julien Comparet, head of the company Ages et vie.
France Bleu Bourgogne: what are these shared apartments for seniors used for?
Julien Comparet: These shared apartments are places of life for the elderly who no longer want or can no longer live alone at home and who need daily support. They can stay in their commune and benefit from a presence 24 hours a day. And especially homemade meals. The fact of being in a roommate allows you to exchange with seven other roommates, to live in a small community where everyone will be concerned about the well-being of the other.
How many units are available in these shared apartments?
Within a shared apartment, out of will find eight rooms. There will be two roommates on the same site. For example, soon in Ruffey-lès-Beaune, there will be two houses with eight bedrooms in each of the shared apartments.
How much does it cost for these elderly people?
1,600 euros all inclusive, that will include the rent, charges, insurance, food costs and all personal services.
Is there a lot of demand from them?
Currently, around Dijon, we have four roommates. And these four sites are completely filled. For each of these roommates, the 16 roommates live in the houses: we are therefore complete. And we hope that it will be the same for our two establishments in Ruffey-les-Beaune. We are currently processing the requests.
So there is demand, I imagine that also creates jobs?
Yes indeed, we are going to create six jobs on our new site. Two carers will live on site, they are the head of the house and her assistant. Four other helpers will intervene in the house. Their role is that of ” housewives », They will take care of both getting up, going to bed, washing, getting around, preparing and helping with mealtimes or even cleaning and laundry maintenance. .
What are the future projects for Ages et vie, in the Côte d’Or department?
We are currently working on three other projects, which are currently more or less completed. They will be located in Quellegey, Seurre and Losne.
