All how in 2010 when Maxime Dereymez formed the D’pendanse troupe for the show, Dancestreet from France Ô. He surrounded himself with professional dancers who were above all long-standing friends. He met with real success with his first show “Entre Nous” and performed in the most beautiful venues.
Still little known 10 years ago, ballroom dancing was popularized in France thanks to the program “Dance with the Stars” which, from the first season, met with phenomenal success. Each season, professional dancers go above and beyond to present ever more spectacular choreographies. Today they are the stars of the program
The show is not a musical
Maxime Dereymez : “We are on the border with the musical, but this is not a dance show. It’s true that our audience is used to seeing us in this register, but here we are telling a story, we lack the vocals for it to be a musical. No one has pushed the song yet, maybe one day (To laugh) But it’s true that people are surprised, he thinks he’s seeing a Dance with the Stars style show and finally they end up with a whole different staging, but the feedback is good ”
It is above all a story of friends
“Yes that’s it, we didn’t look very far after all. We realized during our previous shows that people liked our complicity. So we said to ourselves, let’s go! Let’s tell us! And suddenly I tell our story. It starts one evening at my place, where I invite my friends as is often the case elsewhere. And during this evening a lot of things are happening. We talk about our trips that we experienced with D’pendanse in Mauritius or Madagascar. In fact it’s like the Friends series ”
The choice of dances
“There are several tableaux with a majority of ballroom dancing, but there are also titles that are a little more commercial, hip pop. But each dancer has put his sensitivity for the choreography, because not everyone is necessarily comfortable with all the dances, and suddenly, it gives a richness and a unique personalization for this show ”
