Princess Madeleine and her family will return to Sweden for Christmas this year.
The princess, her husband Chris O’Neill and their three children, will be in Sweden for the second time this year during the Christmas weekend after visiting the country during the summer for the first time since the global health crisis began.
Madeleine and her three children, Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne, will receive the traditional Christmas trees in the Royal Palace’s courtyard on 20 December. A member of the royal family receives the tree annually from the Forest Academy at the Royal Palace.
This also means that the family will be able to celebrate Queen Silvia’s 78th birthday in person this year. She will celebrate her birthday on December 23.
The Royal Court confirmed the family’s travel plans to Svenskdam, even though they did not give a specific date for her return.
The head of information at the Royal Court, Margareta Thorgren, told the newspaper, “The Royal Family celebrates Christmas at home privately. Princess Madeleine and her family plan to return home. On December 20, the Princess and the children will receive the traditional spruces at Innergården. ”
Princess Madeleine and her family live near Miami, Florida and could not travel to Sweden last Christmas due to the health situation. The last Christmas they spent in the Scandinavian country was 2019.
