Portugal finishes European TeamGym finals in fourth place
Guimarães during the event 14 federations, represented by 37 teams
The men’s and mixed Portuguese teams both finished fourth in the European TeamGym finals, which took place in Guimarães.
The senior male team had qualified for third place, on Thursday, but ended up dropping one place in the final, in which the Portuguese scored 18,875 points on the ground, without a drop 18,200 points and without a mini-trampoline 17,300 points, for a total of 54,375 spots.
Sweden won, with 61,350 points.
The mixed team registered 17,200 points without a floor, 14,450 points without a fall and 15,000 points without a mini-trampoline, making a total of 46,650 points.
The Swedish team also triumphed in this category, with 56,975 points.
The head of delegation for Portugal, Miguel Balsas, said that “the balance was positive” with the team “always qualifying for the finals by about two points better”. “It was not possible to reach a podium as the other teams are very strong, but we gave everything we had,” he said.
Guimarães during the event 14 federations, represented by 37 teams. Seven men’s teams, eight women’s teams and five mixed teams from 12 countries participated in the senior competition. In juniors, there were two men’s teams, nine women’s teams and six mixed teams from 12 Federations.
